Description
According to legend, "Lake Superior seldom gives up her dead". This is because of the unusually low temperature of the water, estimated at under 36 °F (2 °C) on average. The sandy beach along Whitefish Point is an exciting place to look for banded agates, especially after a storm or to take a walk along the sandy shoreline and enjoy the magic of Lake Superior.

It's beautiful Evie and it does look warm an inviting regardless of the water temp. Very nicely done, have a a beautiful day, Margaret

Outstanding image. Prior to moving south we were in MN - every September we went up 'nort' just passed Duluth to spend a weekend up in a condo that was right on the shore. Yes, we did try swimming (once) - that is a very cold lake. Your image makes it look warm and inviting. vp
Evie Carrier replied:
Thanks Nancy--yes it is a rude awakening to swim --however it usually warms up by August!
